Does the Previous/Next Product Page extension work with custom attributes?

Question:

I have a Magento 2 eshop and I am using a custom attribute to sort the products. This attribute called Sorting and I have chosen this attribute in Magento 2 default configuration. If I choose in the sorting of Previous/Next Product Page for Magento 2 extension the Current Sort Order, will it sort the products based on my custom attribute?
